Wholly – completely, totally, absolutely
Joshua 14:6-10
6 Then the people of Judah came to Joshua at Gilgal. And Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him, “You know what the LORD said to Moses the man of God in Kadesh-barnea concerning you and me. 7 I was forty years old when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me from Kadesh-barnea to spy out the land, and I brought him word again as it was in my heart. 8 But my brothers who went up with me made the heart of the people melt; yet I wholly followed the LORD my God. 9 And Moses swore on that day, saying, ’Surely the land on which your foot has trodden shall be an inheritance for you and your children forever, because you have wholly followed the LORD my God.‘ 10 And now, behold, the LORD has kept me alive, just as he said, these forty-five years since the time that the LORD spoke this word to Moses, while Israel walked in the wilderness. And now, behold, I am this day eighty-five years old. 11 I am still as strong today as I was in the day that Moses sent me; my strength now is as my strength was then, for war and for going and coming. 12 So now give me this hill country of which the LORD spoke on that day, for you heard on that day how the Anakim were there, with great fortified cities. It may be that the LORD will be with me, and I shall drive them out just as the LORD said.“
I read this passage some time ago, and its been sitting, percolating as it were, in my mind.
“Yet I wholly followed the LORD my God.”
Caleb, one of the two spies who took a stand saying that the Israelites would be able to conquer the men of Caanan. Forty years later he returned, still as strong as he was before, still wholly following God, and believing that even though the men of the hill country were strong… his God was stronger.
Then there’s me.
ouch.
The last post was talking about how we put other things, other people’s writing, before God’s Word. That convicted me.
So here’s some questions for us…
Am I wholly following the Lord with my reading time?
Am I wholly following the Lord in my work? – not just doing the minimum?
Am I wholly following the Lord in how I spend my money?
Do you have any other questions we need to ask?
in Christ,
Isaiah

Sara is a variant Hebrew form of name Sarai, which means “princess”. And the name Isaiah means “Yahweh saves” . . . . So what more splendid couple could God lead me to? Just within your home page title says very much, because not only your names Isaiah and Sara, but words, photo’s and love with love being the greatest. And with that a part of God’s beautiful creation in the background that looks like the northwest which I love just as everything God has created. The most important word to God is who he is,which is love, and by lips billions know it well, but according to God who cannot lie, Isaiah says it best in 29:13. When we have wholly set our hearts on God, and only Him as the only true God, He knows our hearts well, and that my friend and brother can be our only strength that holds us together as super glue when our own world is always crumbling around us non stop. Because God cannot lie, and His words in Proverbs 8:17 state that He loves them that love Him, and it’s not our lips that say the words, but our heart and our hearts intent that says it all. There are a thousand things that I would like to say to you both, however, when God is our lead with Christ as the head who became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him while leaving us an example that we are to follow His steps. . . . those words alone will show only those spiritually minded with the spirit of truth and not the spirit of error, exactly where the world is today regarding Christianity and false teachings. God new Jeremiah before he was formed in the belly, and knew that he would be hated for the words that He would put in his mouth. Ezekiel was hated, Paul, and many men of God for their truths were also hated. God introduced me to an interest in Him back in the start of the 90′s, and here it is nearly 20 years later and he has been teaching me much while holding me together. As you read these words, we are within the times of the end. The end of man ruling man with lies, greed, hate, blood and death while destroying all of God’s greater than words can say creations. If you are of the few to live by every word of God with your heart rather than your mind, you should be seeing much within His word that bring many questions into mind.
At this point, what I hope for most, is your friendship as something that will grow. Just for some basics about me and Mylene, have a look see in my free website with about me and photos also. And if you drop me a word via my email addy I also have another 50 or more writings with only God and truth, as He is my only source of life.
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my father.”
Being that God cannot lie, it is greater works that I shall do, and only those of Hid little flock in Luke 12:32 shall do them. . . I need a brother, and I need a friend, as 2 years and thousands of words to pastors, ministers, churches, and brethern have gained me only lips with zero hearts. . . .and God uses that word near 800 times.
May God bless you both, and may He bring us together for His purposes and not ours.
Jeff
