my CELL phone

Today’s Free Friday Question:

What cell phone do you use right now?

What phone would you use if you could?

I’ll answer the first one to get us started.

Right now I use a Palm phone. That’s usually where I stop because the name for my phone is rather, well, girly.

I carry a Palm Pixi Plus, alright?

Yeah, yeah, laugh all you want… but I get free mobile hotspot.

What’s that you ask, oh, I can just share my data connection with up to 5 devices over wifi.

Still don’t get it? I get to carry a mini-wireless router around whenever I want.

That’s worth the name Pixi…. right?

What cell phone do you use right now?

What is your dream cell phone?

what’re you reading?

Today’s Free Friday Question is:

What’re you reading?

Seriously, give me some links to some awesome blogs/news/silly stuff you’ve found lately on the interwebs – or, if you’re old school, paper books/magazines/newspapers.

You can see some of what I’ve been reading in a new widget just to the left of this post. See the new section called “Recommended Reading”? This pulls in the shared items from my Google Reader, and usually includes some of the funnier/weirder/cool stuff that I’ve come across lately. Check it out or see my full Shared Items here.

So, yeah. Post what you’ve been reading lately.

what are you listening to?

Today’s Free Friday Question is:

What music are you listening to today?

Right now I’m listening to the Portal 2 Soundtrack.

Yes, I like game soundtracks, I am a nerd. Truthfully, I prefer to listen to soundtracks while working. If there are lyrics to the music I’m listening to, I’ll sometimes start writing them instead of what I’m meaning to write. Anyone else do that? No? Ok…

This  is actually an excellent soundtrack, and you, too, can download the Portal 2 Soundtrack for FREE! There are two volumes and they even offer ringtones for your phone, all for free.

So, What are you listening to?

Weekend Plans?

Free Friday has returned – you are now free to answer the question below:

What’re you doing this weekend?

I’m headed to Riverton, WY, for a graduation ceremony for Thomas Smith, and to attend the Riverton Hot Air Balloon Rally. I’ve missed the Balloon rally for a few years and it’ll be great to see it. I’m also excited to see Thomas Smith graduate, as I was able to grow with him during my time doing Youth Ministry in Riverton. It’ll be a great weekend.

So, what’re you doing this weekend?

storm chaser

Free Friday means there’s a question of the day. Today’s question began as a seed in my mind yesterday, as the first severe thunderstorm of the season hit Scotts Bluff County. As I watched people’s reactions, on Facebook/Twitter/Face to Face, it made me think of this question:

What type of person do you become during a severe thunderstorm?

A) Storm Chaser

You’d rather stay outside and watch the storm roll forward, in all its destructive power, while others cower in their basements. You’ll even get in your car and drive towards the storm. You may or may not be certifiably insane.

B) Storm Watcher

You don’t mind watching the storm as comes close and even as it hits… but you’ll stay in your house through it all.

C) Storm Hater

You are terrified of Thunderstorms. Not just one part – the entirety of the storm fills you with dread, worse than if a maniacal serial killer were banging down your door. You hide in the dark, in the safest room in the house from the time the watch starts, until an hour past. Haters keep on hating.

I’m sure there’s more than just 3 choices, but I think I’m between A/B.

What about you?

one thing you would say

Free Friday has returned.

Today’s Question:

What is the one thing you would tell the next generation?

What is the one piece of advice you would give?

crazy weekends

This weekend is one of the busiest weekends of the year for us at Summit Christian College. We have the Awards Banquet, Baccalaureate, Senior Breakfast, Board Meetings, Alumni Banquets, Commencement and our annual walk/run/shuttle event Summit to Summit all crammed into three days.

Right now I’m feeling the adrenaline flowing watching the Sophomores prepare the Senior skit, with random costumes being stored in my office as we speak. I know that soon, I’m going to crash. It’s been a long few weeks, fixing our basement and keeping going on work, along with Spring Thing, and now this weekend.

So, Free Friday question:

What’s the craziest weekend you’ve ever had?

communication

Free Friday has returned.

Today’s Question:

How do you prefer to communicate with people?

Maybe you like face to face conversations, or you just like to talk on the phone. Or, like most I know, you’d prefer texting or some form of social networking like Facebook.

Or maybe you just hate people.

What’s your preferred method of communication right now?

what sports are you following?

Free Friday is here.

I’m so excited. I just can’t hide it. I know, I know, I know, I know, I…

Sorry, I’ll stop putting songs in your head.

Ever since the NFL and NFLPA had their high-schoolish breakup, and the pending doom of a lockout seeming inevitable for the 2011-2012 NFL season, I’ve been pondering what I’m going to do.

I know, it IS the end of the world that the NFL may not play!

So, instead, I decided to focus once again on the old standby, America’s Favorite Pasttime: Major League Baseball.

So, Today’s Free Friday Question(s) of the day:

What sports are you following? Have you added any since hearing about a possible NFL lockout?

Leave your answers in the comments below, please and thank you.

p.s. Bonus points if you remember the Denver Zephyrs, the minor league team that I cared about until the Colorado Rockies came to town.

road trip!

Yesterday, about 3pm, I received a call from my sister, asking if I could pick her up in Burwell, NE, so that she could make our father’s wedding on Saturday. You see, my sister is on the college’s choir tour, which is currently traveling through Kansas, Nebraska and South Dakota. In order for my sister to make, we had thought we’d have to drive to Highmore, SD, which didn’t seem like it would pan out, as we’d have to drive through the night to make it back to Scottsbluff, sleep a couple of hours, and head to the wedding.

When my sister called and said, “If you come to Burwell, and pick me up, I can come right now!”, I, like any good brother, said ok, and headed on my way.

Little did I know that the path to Burwell is highway only, with many towns in-between. The trip ended up being 526 miles (total), and almost 9 hours of driving. Wooh! Needless to say, I’m tired this morning, having arrived back after midnight this morning.

The point, Isaiah, the point! Right, right. This road trip made me think of a question for Free Friday:

What is the best/worst road trip you’ve ever been on and why?
