snowboarding or skiing

By the time this is posted, we’ll be on our way to Winter White Wash, a youth rally/ski trip in Casper, Wyoming. They’re expecting almost 300 people this year, which is amazing. Since I’m in a skiing/snowboarding mood, today’s question is:

Snowboarding or Skiing? and Why?

When I do actually get on the slopes (not this year, haha), I prefer skiing. Mostly because I’ve never snowboarded and have no idea how.

So, what about you?

how much do you sleep?

Friday’s come, the morning coffee is beginning to churn through my veins to awaken my senses… and its Free Friday!

Today’s Question:

How much do you sleep per night (average)?

I’m asking this question, because I’ve found many different people who average what I would consider excessive amounts, and those that are, well, not excessive.  Some who’s sleep patterns, if I had to model them for a week, would cause me to murder someone. [nervous laughter]

I seem to average about 7 hours a day.

What about you?

[updated] - that’s 7 hours a day, over the week… not 1 hour a day… wow…

prayer

The end of the week has come and the weekend peeks over the horizon as a rising sun.  A beacon of hope during a dark week.

But for some, it just means its Free Friday…

Prayer.  Its almost a dirty word to us sometimes, right?  We know we should do more of it, but don’t.  We know it will help us if we do it, but we don’t.  We pretty much relegate it to (sometimes) mealtimes and bedtimes… oh and if we lost our keys.  That leads me to this question:

What do you need to learn about prayer this year?

Do you need to learn to trust God, in letting Him know your thoughts?

Do you need to learn to seek Him with all of your problems?

or, like me,

Do you need to stop the excuses and just pray?

Speak now, or forever hold your… wait, that’s something else.  Just pray.

in Christ,

Isaiah

resolved

We’ve come to the final day of the year.  2010 has been a crazy year for me, super fast in some ways and super slow in others.  My wife and I have celebrated 5 years of marriage, and somehow, amazingly, she still puts up with me, and even loves me, haha.

Since it is the final Free Friday of the year, I thought it would be a good time to ask this…

Question of the Day:

Do you have New Year’s Resolutions?

I usually have new year’s resolutions to lose weight, read the Bible in a year, be a better husband, and so on.

Last year I did keep 14 pounds off, and read most of the Bible in the year.  I can’t answer if I was a better husband, haha.

In 2011, I resolve to:

  • Lose 20 lbs
  • Read the Bible more in-depth, growing in wisdom.
  • Be a better husband – I’ll ask Sara how ;)

So, what are your resolutions?

in Christ,

Isaiah

Merry Christmas Eve!

Isaiah 9:6

For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given;
and the government shall be upon his shoulder,
and his name shall be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Merry Christmas to all, from the Henni family.

I hope you’re having a blessed and wonderful Christmas Eve, and hope you enjoy the Christmas weekend.

For the Free Friday question over the weekend, two questions:

What was your favorite present that you received this year?

What was the best present that you gave this year?

Merry Christmas!

in Christ,

Isaiah and Sara

what’s your favorite dessert

Free Friday time.  We’re having a celebration/going away party for Becky today.  She is leaving SCC to intern at a Christian school, so we’re celebrating as Christians do, by eating!  We’re eating cupcakes and donuts, which got me to thinking about my favorite dessert, so I thought I’d ask this question:

What’s your favorite dessert?

Mine would have to be Pumpkin Cheesecake.  I could eat lasagna and pumpkin cheesecake every meal, every day for the rest of my life.

How about you?

in Christ,

Isaiah

last good movie you saw

Free Friday is back.

Question of the day:

What is the last good movie you saw, in theaters and/or at home?

My wife and I watched Unstoppable last night.  Usually we don’t like going to a theater, but the Nile in Mitchell is perfectly quiet on a Thursday night, so we decided to give it a shot.  The movie was actually pretty good, very tense at the time, but now I look back and realize that 70% of the movie was shots of a helicopter hovering over a train, or trains, moving down a track.  It isn’t so suspenseful now.

So, how about you?

in Christ,

Isaiah

sick…ugh

You may have noticed that I didn’t post yesterday.  That was because I was rather ill with what is generally described as the “stomach” flu.  I won’t go into details, because they’re terrible.

Anyway, I thought that we could have a #freefriday that talks about sickness.

My question:

What’s the best part about being sick?

Do you have any good memories from times when you were sick?  Maybe that was the only time you were allowed to have pop, or being able to just chill on the couch in front of the tv between vomiting sessions?

Mine? – The day after, the feeling of NOT being sick is very nice, and something we take for granted… until we get sick again.

What is the best part about being sick for you?

in Christ,

Isaiah
