There are many reasons for this, chief of which was the loss of my job at Summit Christian College. I was laid off late last month.

Yet, what most would see as a bad thing, God has turned into good.

I have been able to rest, relax, and feel the peace that only comes from God. I know that God has a plan.

I’ll be starting my new job next month, and through it all God has provided for us in ways I wouldn’t have thought of. I also have had the opportunity in my free time, which I’ve had a lot of, to help out friends I normally wouldn’t have been able to. I’ve also been able to teach and preach a couple weekends in Casper, WY.

This time away has confirmed to me that God is who He says He is, so all praise and glory and honor and power are to Him.

Hallelujah.

It is time, though, to get back into the swing of blogging.

Let’s continue Genesis together on Monday.

Literally.

Because I’ll be riding roller coasters all day long!!!!

I’m headed to Elitch Gardens in Denver, CO with the Central Church of Christ youth group! We’re leaving at 6am, and getting back very, very late. Despite the early hour and late return, it will be a day to remember.

On a serious note, be in prayer as we travel down to Denver. Word is we’ll be taking at least 4 vehicles, and we all out appreciate prayers for safety.

Back to the roller coasters, and see you tomorrow…

See you then!

My speaking was set for the evening, which meant that I ate just enough at supper to keep my stomach from growling, but not enough to be full. This was not the fault of the cooks, no sir, but rather my own nervous stomach. God spoke through this broken vessel – as I said, if it was good, it was from God – if it was bad, it was from Isaiah .

My return home was dampened by sickness Friday night late – Saturday. I am now well, no dizziness or other things, so I’m praising God for that.

Tomorrow we’ll start up the Genesis blogs, and get back into the swing of things.

Lessons I learned, or re-learned, from this week of camp:

God is awesome, He is good, and He still speaks.

I’m writing this post to let you know that postings on my blog will be on hiatus, temporarily. This week and the next I’ll be preparing for, and delivering 6 messages at Camp Christian High School in Colorado. Combine that with final summer teams training and I’ve got a full couple of weeks.

I wanted to let you know that I’m not just dropping the blog, haha. I’m just going to allow all of my creative outlet to flow into the sermons that I need to finish. Ok? Ok.

Regular postings will resume June 13th.

The Church today is hungry, lost without its Lord.

The Word of God is missing

The power it brings is gone.

On every heart is failure

and every face is long.

What can we do to change this world for the better?

Let’s bring back the Word of God, every verse, book and letter.

Then power will be restored by the river of life that flows

from the Word of God when spoken are those words of life of old…

Anyway, let me know what you want to study. Proverbs is currently the leader, but I’m open to either Genesis, Proverbs, or even something in the New Testament.

p.s. Aaron Justice’s comment that we should study Dianetics was hilarious, but also sacrastic .

This is an intense VBS, with each normal day of a VBS crammed into a morning or afternoon session. Yes, that’s right, in 3 days we’ll do 5 sessions and special 6th session for the students on Wednesday afternoon. Crazy? Yes. Intense? Yes. Fun? Yes. Rewarding. Yes. Tiring? Absolutely.

Anyway, I’m letting you know that information so, 1) you can pray for us as we lead different sessions and 2) you can know that I may not be blogging regularly the next couple of days.

It’ll be awesome.

Anyway, Happy Birthday to my sister (and myself). 29 – 20 = 9 years. There, now you know both of our ages.

Wow, now they’re charging $149.88 for a brand new copy of Mad Max. I guess I should’ve kept it in the box. I don’t even remember liking the game!
